Another MegaUpdate

I'm horrible at keeping consistency XD

Hey guys I'm back, a lot has happened since my last post so I'll try to keep this as short as possible :D

So since DiscoMotion, we went into a week full of practicing with the other band for our a festival or something that was held here at Sulli. But during that week of no gym, I was busy on that dance grind working with the Junior Hip Hop team for our performance for either a competition or the pep rally. It's Oompa Loompa themed ;) It's really fun being on this team and I'm pretty new to being on a School Dance Team, before I did it for fun.

After the festival, both classes were together for three straight days, and let me tell you, falling and slipping and what not in front of a lot of people is not thrilling. Call me Chris Algieri (if you don't get that then I'm not sure we can be friends, ahah jk). We played Capture the Flag and Speedball, two of the top favourites of my class last year (that class was sooooo fun). And I, as stated above, slipped and slides in front of EVERYONE. #5Falls1Game. Oh and for JHH we expanded to our piece and improving and cleaning up the piece.

The next week, this week, went back to normal so we went back to our usual 30. We skipped fitness on Tuesday to play CTF in the snow and did the Pond Relay today, which I'm gonna talk about... After that run I had a HUUUUGE leg cramp. Ohooh that felt like hell. It hurts to even think about it. I did well, my group did 15 laps in 25 minutes and we were walking back to the school. And then it happened. It's funny because I was wearing LeBron 9 Lows and LeBron James had a HUUUUGE leg cramp during the finals last year. Here's a tweet about it haha.
(Credits for that pic of me from Gavin, who also carried me back halfway back, Gavin, you da real MVP)

I honestly don't blame the guy but I'm kind of a comedian on Twitter so yeah I really blame myself for not drinking enough water. Dehydration is bad for you kids. It's baaaad.

So I guess that's it haha.

DiscoMotion is Dope

Just a quick little post before shutting off today. On Friday we did DiscoMotion (not sure if it's actually called that) and it was more fun than the actual LocoMotion, probably because it was that, in the dark, with disco lights.
You can't really see it with this picture, but I like this so... yeah. I had fun with this and my body was sore after. It lasted until Saturday afternoon. My snapchat story was filled with pictures and videos but I forgot to save them all. There was a snapchat video I managed to save, I posted it on YouTube but it's only 9 seconds long :http://youtu.be/iaQAQp22CWQ
So I feel good about how I did and I was able to get some evidence from it. That's about it.
God bless.

PE Midterm

This PE class so far is amazing. The class doesn't just teach me about my body, but also about leadership. Something I'm used to because I have two little brothers at home. And for another reason but I'll talk about that later.

My preparation this year so far is pretty good. There were a few times where I brought the wrong shoes to the wrong location (my poor Hyperdunks :/) and at first I had no lock, now I do, but wrong clothes are a rarity. It's never happened so far but maybe it'll happen once. It has happened every year.

I contribute to class in a few ways. Like that one day I stepped up to switch to another team in handball, even though the team I was in had a few friends and I didn't know any people on the other team. Also when the Grade 9s in class need help with their blogs or anything of that matter, I'll be there to help out. Also in the locker room, now that I have a lock, I lock up special items of classmates. And encouragement is something I like to do. It's in me to spread positivity.

Fitness... Yeah, I try really hard but the reason my Beep Test score went from 8.6 to 7.9 because my shoelaces on both shoes went undone on around 2.3. Moral of the story, don't buy LeBron 9 Lows, horrible laces. They were double knotted too. Anyways I'll try to make 9 sometime soon. Oh and we did the pond run in late September or early October, not so sure, but I set a new record and didn't stop running in the run section once. No lie, ask Miguel, he stuck with me through that run. I used to walk a lot during the pond run last year, now I'm consistent. I give and show full effort in fitness and try my hardest to show improvement. I guess I could also put the fact that I'm in Junior Hip Hop this year, which counts as extra curricular fitness.

Leadership is a big part of not only this class, but my life. In my culture, my dad is the oldest child on his side of the family, so he is the "kaka" and everyone else in that generation's kids will look up to his oldest son. Which is me. I lead my cousins, brothers, no matter what age. Except for the future kaka. So basically I'm used to this leadership thing. It's evident to others and you Neuf. Like I said before, when I switched teams in handball. And also the Grade 9s come to me for help, especially my two boys from Cambridge (yes they're Earl and Miguel). And honestly I want to try running the class one day like some other Grade 10's have. They've all been girls so far (not that that's bad I'm just saying) and I'll be the first guy if Neuf lets me. I want to see if how I lead my family works on the class, you guys. I mean we are family right?

So yeah if I were to give myself a Work Habits grade, I'd give my self a G. For good. And Neuf I'm actually willing to run the class one day if you like. I hope to see this class to come together and become family in the end of the year.
God Bless.

Multipost #2

So i guess this year I'm doing posts when I feel like I have time. This is based off what happened from Monday October 20-Monday October 27. So on Monday October 20 we did Fitness Monday because we had a Pro-D Day on Friday, but we did the Triple Threat where basically we make group of threes and I worked with Miguel and Earl, two grade 9's from my elementary school and we did well, I think, because Earl was sweating his face was red and Miguel did just as well, from what I saw. I feel like I did good too, I was sore after that. I was actually able to sneak a selfie from that.
Yeah that's me doing a side plank. And after that was done, we cleaned up I took another one with my members.
This was after the stretching and talk from Neuf, but yeah look how attractive we are XD.

After that was done and Period 5 was over we went down to the Dance Studio for the first Junior Hip Hop Practice! I was pretty excited that I had the opportunity to participate because I'm still technically auditioning, up until now because I missed the actual audition and had to audition alongside the Seniors. Dang that was hard. But yeah the coach (Coach Angela) hasn't seen if I'm worthy of team until today. I think she's deciding whether to keep me on the team or not today. But yeah anyways we did the Team Bonding, and the highlight was dancer musical chairs, where I was eliminated second haha. That was the most active we got from that practice. It was fun.

On Wednesday October 22, we played dodgeball against the Grade 9's and lost probably all games (but hey we were outnumbered by a lot) but that was pretty fun anyways. I sneaked another selfie (yes I have a problem XD don't mess) featuring Gavin.
Hey if you see me pull out my phone and hold it up as if I'm going to take a selfie, you should probably jump in if you want evidence marks because that's something I'm improving at and it's always good to get a boost from others. Don't worry if I don't really know you because I just met Gavin this year and look, he's already jumping in when he feels like it. Props to you bruh. I don't bite. I'm nice :D

After that we had practice again where Brandon of ENTI came in to teach the Juniors a piece to Sango and Waldo's SNS (thanks to that I'm introduced to another rapper I now enjoy) and I feel like I did well, even though I didn't do perfect in class, I practiced it over the weekend with Ralph and taught some of it to Michael and this is the end result: http://youtu.be/9oUi4OBwaP8. Yeah I feel pretty good about it thanks to my brother Miguel (not the one in our class, my actual brother Miguel) for the video. It was a fun piece to learn.

So as mentioned before I worked on perfecting the piece all weekend so there's not much to say about the weekend but today (Monday October 27) we had a choice of Handball (which I chose), Bean Bag Badminton or something like that, Hockey, and the Weight Room. Just to point out how I can be a leader, during the making of the teams I was placed in the Red team, and Blue needed a member from our team and because no one left our team because that team seemed pretty decent, I left to even things out and even though our team never really won a game, I feel good for stepping up when no one does. But yeah we didn't really win a game and I was kind of bummed out because of that because, who actually enjoys losing all games, I bet you no one does. But cheering for other teams when you're not playing isn't boring so I guess it wasn't too bad. I don't know I guess I like spreading positivity. It's in me to do that.

After we had Junior Hip Hop practice again. I guess you figured out every Monday and Wednesday we have practice. We did a choreo challenge (my first time to explain why I feel like I can improve by a lot) and it wasn't as fun, because I'm not the type of guy who has the ability to create choreo pieces yet, I still need to develop that ability, but I feel like we did fair for a first try.

I guess that's it and come to think of it, this is probably the most I've written for a normal post in a while. Thanks for taking your time to read all of this... If you did XD.

First Post of the Year

Ok, so I haven't posted at all this year, probably because I'm always working on French homework all the time. But yeah, we have class time today so it'll be beneficial to actually get a post up for the year. So on the first class we played kickball with the grade 9's and it was pretty fun, they were shy at first but, now we're all pretty acquainted. Then we headed to the Weight Room to browse workout videos. I'm working on my core.
 For fitness, we of course did the beep test. I got an 8.6 which is pretty good for the beginning of the year. Then we did the Pond Run which, for the first time, I didn't walk during the run section once. Ask Miguel. Then we played Capture the Flag, which was a big thing last year since a group in our class last year would always set up a game. We lost the first round, then won the rest. We then did Loco-Locomotion, which I haven't actually done since Grade 8. I don't know why. But I pushed hard for that. My body is still sore as I type. Then we are where we are at. Basically so far I'm liking this class. The enthusiasm is strong in this class and now I have to set the example for the 9's. I'm hoping to end this class well, and to make a lot of friends along the way. God Bless.

Final Post of 2013-2014 Class

The end of the year is here. I'm just going to take a moment to say that it was a blast having gym with this class this year. Everyone was enjoyable to be around and even though the strikes messed us up, I feel like we pushed through and still found ways to make this class enjoyable. And without further ado, the four pillars.

1. Participation
When it comes to participation, is give myself at least an A. I really think my participation level increased more from last year. I don't think I've really missed a day other than Take Your Kids To Work Day and Band Days. My gym strip is usually on point. When participating in activities, it really depends if it relies on group effort and if it does, who is in my group. When it's a group activity and my group doesn't like running and physically moving it really throws me off and makes me think that there isn't a point in trying if I don't have people watching my back. I constantly try to tell them to at least try to help and encourage them to leave the comfort zone but some of them don't listen. It just throws me off my "team spirit" mindset. But other than that, I try really, really hard. Especially in fitness. Ask my friends. Overall, I'd give myself a 20/25.

2. Social Responsibility
This year I'm in Grade 9, I'm no longer the little, new, lost kid I was last year. I have an idea on how things work here in Sullivan, meaning I need to step up and show those Grade 8s and my peers that I can be a leader. I think I do a good job at encouraging other people and telling people that they can do things that they thought they could never do. But when we organize events I'm not the best. I usually use my explosive voice when people need me to get other people's attention and I help clean up sometimes but that's about it, nothing big. But encouraging other people is another story. When someone makes a mistake, I usually tell them "Hey don't worry about it.", or, "We'll get 'em next time." I try to make people realize that their mistakes need to be noticed but not be thought about too much. On this section I'd give myself a 23/25.

3. Healthy Living
My healthy living is good, I've gotten in shape, and my fitness scores improved drastically from Grade 8. My physicality is different from Grade 8, I'm more resilient, I'm more quicker, my body can finally outlast my mind, and I just feel like a totally new person. My capabilities rose a lot. Like my beep test score. My first score was a 7.8. My highest is 9.7 topping my Grade 8 record of 8.2. And my community run scores are improved. Out of all of my friends I'm among the top 3 to finish. A "big deal" to me because I usually was one of the last to finish, beginning this year. And also, during pond runs, I'm among the few of my friends who keep a fast pace throughout the whole pond run. I usually get outrunned by one friend though, which one day, I'll change. And no, it's not Michael. I also do dance outside of school, which I've posted previously on my blog. Oh and just to mention, I've created another short choreo that I will be practicing and try to create a legit video (like moving camera angles and friends dancing along with me) kind of like a build up to my Junior Team Tryouts. Oh and if you're a guy who has dance experience in the Grades 8-10 we need you to tryout. The Junior Team had 2 guys this year and Dinand is moving on to Senior Team. Anyways back on topic, I'd give myself a 23/25.

4. Digital Portfolio
If there is a "worst aspect" in my Active Learning this year, it would be my blog itself. That's why I'm making this post soooo long. My number of evidence compared to others isn't the best, and I can say the same about the number of posts. But I think it's good enough to survive this year's Active Learning though. I could step it up though. I'm not even bother going into excuses. But I did not provide any evidence in the beginning few months. I slowly started uncovering things about me people never knew. Like my first dance video, I've had my friends go up to me like, "You dance?" And I've only been dancing since Grade 5 no big deal. Just kidding, that's actually pretty big. 4 years of experience. But my point is, it revealed a whole side of me that was there for a while now. In this side, I'd give myself a 19/25.

So overall, I've given myself an 85/100, a clear 85% wow, now that I think about that's lower than expected. I wanted to end with an A but my blog speaks otherwise. I loved this class though, everyone was enjoyable, I made lots of new friends, and I hope I left an enjoyable presence. It be great if we had the same Grade 9s from this class in next year's class. But I'm just fantasizing. I'll miss everybody, Neuf, you've been an awesome teacher, I'll miss you all.

Fitness Tuesday

I felt it at the beep test again. You know the feeling. The feeling of just giving up and collapsing. Now honestly, I'm more of a sprinter than a guy who can really keep endurance. I got 9.7 though and my highest was probably at least 8.5. #Improvement. Now for the final beep test I'm shooting for 10 at least. For the vertical I reach 2.05 m. but jump 2.5 m. so that's a 45 cm vertical. Then I got 10.6 on the T-Test. My previous best was 11.7. My plank time will be posted below.
Yeah my planking dropped. Overall, my day today was pretty good, records were broken except for the vertical and planking meaning since the last fitness tests, my body really evolved and changed in terms of limits. I have a motto. "Set limits. Break limits." It's what I try to do every fitness day. Plus after school, me, Michael, and Adrian V went down to the dance studio today. He came up with a routine for both of us but it seemed better for him to make it a solo act. It's hard, I'll say that, but I'll try to nail it and eventually add on to it with my own flavour. But for now I stay trying to learn it.

Loving the Dancing

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever since I didn't make it to the basketball team I went back to old roots and started dancing again. I think that going back to dancing was the best thing to do because my friends say I'm pretty good at it. I'll be honest, I'm not the best. But dancing is a way of expressing feeling, energy, and mood. I'll give props to Michael an Adrian B. for bringing me back to dancing again. Mainly I'm back because Michael told me he'll tryout for junior team if I do and decided to get Adrian B. involved, thus creating our group. We are primarily working on a choreo for Drake's song "Over" which is a fast paced one, I'll tell you. It will take a few weeks, I'm estimating, but we learn fast so it's possible for it to be done sooner. We need a name though.
                                   -Peace ✌️
The Pond Run and CHOREO VIDEO!!! (NOT FROM SPRING BREAK)
Today was a fitness day and we did a relay/pond run type of activity. I gotta say that I really enjoyed it. I did 8 laps and my goal was 7 so good job on my team, Michael, Rajan and Arjun for keeping up the consistency. That was about it. OR WAS IT? So my cousin Abe, the one who filmed my solo dance video from spring break, STILL hasn't sent me the video. The only reason why I didn't use my phone was because my phone had the music, so thank you Abe for being super late. But hey, me, Michael, and our friend Adrian B. came up with a choreo (honestly I'll give props to Michael because he came up with most of it, if not all) that we are still working on because we are planning to join the Junior Hip Hop team (yeah I'm shooting for that now). We could use some improvements, obviously, but this is our first day learning and actually creating the choreo. Anyways, I think we did good, we need to fix a few things here and there and even make the choreo longer, but other than that, I think it was good. Here is the video, enjoy, peace. Spring Break Dance Video (Probably More)
Considering the fact that my last, legitimate post was last month, I've decided that I'm going to make a dance video. It'll be posted during Spring Break because I've been working on a lot of homework so I've been pretty busy. I've also missed Fitness Tuesday due to a doctor's appointment so expect it around March 15-19. I'm not sure what song to do and the video will only be about 15-30 seconds long.
Insanity Workout
Oh jeez, today was different. Usually when I hear we're doing Insanity, I'd be all like "Okay bring it." I feel like I was just on Revelation at PlayLand (in other words, my body was numb, I was dizzy, I felt like I was gonna hurl any second.) That's the effect of working really hard and knowing it. I've got a video of me doing some exercise in Insanity: Insanity. I feel like I did well, almost hurling and everything so... here's a few pictures...
Beep Test and other Tests for Fitness (T-Test video link included)
Today's beep test was interesting, I got a score of 8.9 and I was so close to reaching 9, my goal. It was really disappointing because I feel like I could've ran one more lap but, I guess my mentality wasn't strong enough I guess all it could think was "I'm too tired, I need to stop." Despite the fact that I didn't completely reach my goal, I was able to break a record for the T-Test. My previous best was 11.68 seconds and the new T-Test record is 11.07 seconds. A few milliseconds is a big deal, especially if you were always around the 11-12 second margin for the T-Test.(link: Click Here, props to Arjun and Gurjap for the filming and weird commentary) My vertical leap is still the same, with a 45 cm. vertical jump. I can reach 205 cm. and jump to 250 cm. which is neutral to me since my best was 50 cm. back in around October. My record for planking is still 1:28 minutes so, still neutral. Fitness today was fun, and it's good to know I have evidence (Link to T-Test) with this.
Community Run
Today we did the community run and I fell like I did my best. I got a time of 24:06:05. My ears feel like they're gonna fall off. My chest was pounding so hard during the final push. I really hope to reach 22 secs on the next community run.
Semester 1 Mark
Gym this semester was really fun. Haha lots of people make this class fun. I don't need to mention names, you know who you guys are. My fitness level changed since 8th grade. I'm more energetic and enthusiastic. And I actually try my hardest and push my limits. I'll be honest. Last year I did the Active Learning for the grade. Now I'm more focused on my health and pushing my own limits. I'm looking forward to beating my beep test high score of 8.8 by the end of the year. This semester was fun. I think I deserve an A. I hope we will end this year, with red faces and sweaty bodies. #DreamChasing
