Final Blog Post

This year in PE 9-10 I had a blast. My
year went by real quick now that I really think about it but it was fun.

My participation this year was pretty good. My attendance is very good, I've only missed a few classes through competition. My gym strip is also good, I've missed it once after break. I never really drift out of activity and do my own thing unless it's an organized activity. Every once in a while some of the people that I'm with kind of drift off and do their own thing, especially when Neuf starts calling us over. I'm usually the one who herds everyone together or tries to keep them from not joining in. In this section I believe that I deserve a 23/25.

Social Responsibility and Contribution is easy for me because many of the components in this section I do well naturally. Like encouraging others. I'm not the type of guy to get mad or disappointed in someones mistakes in gym class. I usually give them a tip and compliment that with a smile :) Helping with equipment is also another thing I do to contribute to the class. My honesty in competition is also really good because if I cheated, what do I really get out of it? There's no prize so there's no point. One thing I really need to work on is organization. This is evident in the later days in spending time with our Cambridge Buddies, and the one time Neufeld put Miguel and I in charge of organizing the teams for a lacrosse game. But other than that I think I deserve a 23/25.

My Healthy Living this year was stepped up a notch because it affected my fitness scores positively. In my last fitness post, it is evident that I beat almost ALL of my best scores from last year. This is thanks to my choices made in my everyday life. I dance at least 2 hours a day, whether it be practice or creation of choreography. On top of that, my brothers like to go to Goldstone Elementary a lot for fun so I occasionally come along to play ball. My meals were also changed, with less junk food consumed everyday than last year. I find myself outside of the house doing something other than sit at home and game a lot like last year. I've been really active this year so for this section I think I deserve a 24/25.

Now probably my worst aspect this year. My Blog really needed stepping up this year and I wasn't really able to provide as much, to be honest. I have an overall of 10 posts (incl. this one) this year, which isn't good. I know that I could've done more but my schedule has been dance, dance, homework, project, all year. It's hard I'll admit it, and I'll admit I wasn't as ready as I thought I would be. But for the posts I put up I did provide evidence when needed. Take my last fitness testing scores. I provided evidence for them. And my activity out of class, I provided more evidence than last year. I feel that if I posted more often and provided as much in each post this would be an A section but for now it's a 18/25.

Over the year and my posts and through all my evaluation, this year I am ending with 88% which is an A. I hope that in the future my fitness levels will be superb. I don't think I will be taking PE or Band next year. Mr. Neufeld I just want to say thanks for all you've taught me. I will try my hardest to incorporate what you've taught me in my life. THANK YOU!!!!

Final Fitness Report

We did our last fitness testing on Tuesday and I feel like even though I was sick that day this was surprisingly my best scores.
On the beep test I got 10.3 which is more than my best last year. My goal this year was to beat the best of last year and the other fitness tests we did this year I never did beat the best. Until now. For the vert I can reach 210 which is normal but my jumping reach was a big improvement. I went from 255 to 270! That to me is a huge improvement. I have a 60 cm vert! That's huge.
In the T-Test last year my best was 10.6 seconds I believe, but this day I got 10.52.
For push ups I was able to do 30 continuously which beat last year's of 18.
In flexibility I reached level 3, and in balance board I did 9 touches in 30 seconds. My fitness has really improved since the beginning and I'm glad I ended the year with these stats.

Activities Outside of Neuf's Class

My activities outide of school are really random and varied. There is the obvious dancing but I bet you never knew I do some of the following things:

1. Swimming

There's a pool at my Amenity Building so it's hard not to swim on good days.

2. Basketball

Even though my hoop is small (because it's my brother's) I play basketball with my brothers. If you guys knew me from before, you might remember back then (Grade 2-7) ball was life. Then I was injured in Grade 7 but it's okay. I play with my brother Carlos and I help prepare him with simple skills so he can join a league (return to Filcansa maybe?).

3. Martial Arts

This is the most surprising for y'all in my opinion. It's hard to do without a punching bag but I somewhat do martial arts. I was actually able to go to JP's today and use his bag and that was fun. #iLoveThrowingElbows #UseForDefenseOnly http://youtu.be/53kGfnDkNNY

4. Choreograph

In my opinion, dancing and choreographing is different. Dancing is doing movements how you're taught. Choreographing is doing it how you like. When I get bored I sometimes just head over to the Amenity Building's Yoga Room and choreograph. A problem I have with this is that whatever song I tru to choreograph to, I end up hating it for listening to it too much. But it's definemitely something I do.

Dance News

As of today, I've come a long way in terms of dance. Around this time last year, I'm (re)discovering my love for dance because a few friends and I would go down to the Studio every P5. Fast forward to now and I'm on the Junior Team and I'm in a Senior Small Team. We had some great moments, like the 1st place we got at Outbreak. And the disappointments like our 5th at Shamrock. But as a team we get back up and continue grinding forward.

The upcoming week is a CRAZY dance week for me. Wednesday, is the Breakout Small Teams Competition. Thursday is Unleash the Stars. Saturday is Breakout Large Teams. To top it off I probably have morning practices all week.

This post is basically an update and I really hope you wish us luck, this is the All Boys Debut (we still don't have a name) and I'm competing in Senior Category, which is big for me, it's my first year in this scene. I wonder what Grade 9 Chris would say.

The Little Buddies

For the past few weeks we've still been visiting Notch and friends. This time though, Gavin was able to come along. But something I've noticed is that I really need to do more when handling Notch. You know. Be more specific. He seems to follow up really well but always drifts off. And he's a natural at the activities we do, he seems to know what he's doing. But unless I tell him to stay put, he's wandering around and not joining us when called over to. And I'm not perfect, I seem to forget to do a few things but I am learning a lot from these experiences. Notch, you're a good kid, it's time we build that friendship up higher :)

Seeing Notch Again, Elastic Band Football Thing... PLUS FOOTLOOSE AND SHAMROCK :D

A few days ago (Tuesday February 24) we went down to visit our buddies again. Notch (my buddy) was pretty excited to see me again. That day we did some activities that had to do with listening again, like walking to the other side of the gym skipping, or line tag while walking backwards or marching. After we played "Fruit Basket" but to be honest, it was a little hard to play in a short amount of time, by the time we finished we only went through one round. It took a while to explain rules to Notch because he always seemed to drift off topic. But it was all good :) At the end though, when we were stretching, it was hard to get him to cooperate and stretch with us because I told him to pick a spot anywhere in the gym and through the whole thing he was trying to get in the Vacant Room behind the brown wall. Now I'm starting to get the idea of Notch not liking to take orders because last time he was cooperating most of the time. But I kept patience and in the end, if he left with a smile on his face it didn't matter.

Ok so today we played this football type game introduced by John, and I had a lot of fun with it. My team (WILDCATS!) worked together really well and I can say we all enjoyed it. The objective was to get the player wearing the rubber band at the end zone without getting their pinnee pulled out. Defenders had to catch the person with the pinnee. My team, THE WILDCATS, won against... OK I forgot your team name sorry guys, but I heard Neuf's other P3 class called us out. Haha. Bring it Sharks.

Tomorrow, Jr. Hip Hop is competing at RC Palmer Secondary for Outbreak and I'm super hyped up for it haha. We will be performing our "Wonka's Factory" set and for Saturday at Shamrock too. I can't wait for both comps and I hope we at least place in both competitions. Wish us luck.
